AP Poll

Houston will run a lot. They got away with poor tackling and overall weak defense simply because they were playing lower-level programs, but the competition stiffens from here on out. WSUs downfall will be on defense if they do not clean it up this week at practice. The big question is if Washington States defense can stop the run this weeksomething they seem to struggle with in their first two contests this season as well as basic tackling in the open field.

However, given Washington States questionable defense against the run, the best bet might be on the OVER. Houston has the potential to make this game versus Washington State a Primetime showdown for sure. Houston scored 31 points in a 49-31 loss at No. 4 Oklahoma in their season opener this year. This program has been a spoiler for a lot of teams, and they can also score points. Both teams can score. If the underdogs at home get your blood flowing this might be a game to consider.

Im sure there will be some that arent quite buying the hype of Washington State quarterback Gordon. Keep in mind he almost won the job over Minshew last year and beat out highly touted transfer Gage Gubrud. I just think after what we saw last year with Minshew and what he did replacing Luke Faulk, theres every reason to expect a big year from Gordon.
