Winning an All-Ireland is something you put on your CV. But more important is what this experience puts into their being

All in all really it was a day for blankets we even spotted a few in the stand! As the blanket of freezing fog enveloping Castlebar started to lift, Tyrone brought a blanket of their own with them down the N5 and proceeded to smother the life out of the game in what was a frustrating day out. Well, that was a dour old affair in MacHale Park yesterday.

There are now 80 people registered and itt not too late to join in (even joining at this stage youll probably still beat some of us .. Madden are honoured to attend this festival of football and have been handed a tough draw in the group stages where they will pit their wits against current Fermanagh Senior League Champions Ederney and two Fermanagh county representative sides. The club would like to wish Ronan, Brendan, Jamie and the players all the very best of luck in this competition.

If the senior encounter between the two sides last year is anything to go by this will be a mouth-watering encounter between two very evenly matched sides and players and supporters alike are already eagerly awaiting this encounter. The club have been drawn against Whitecross in the next round of the intermediate championship. The game will take place on the weekend of 14th, 15th and 16th of August with the venue yet to be decided.

If youd like to attend the Sunday games, youll need to book your tickets and print out as usual from your season ticket account. Just bring your card along on the Saturday, entry by the Hogan stand only. By the way, all season ticket holders can avail of free entry to the league finals. This weekend will see out the end of the 2017 football league with the division 3 & 4 finals on Saturday and the division 1 and 2 finals on Sunday in Croke Park. The 2017 Allianz Predictions league week 7 results have now been updated.

Nonetheless the management maintain there were lots of positives to be taken from the game as the lads continue to defend well and create good chances, with their decision making in front of the posts in particular something to work on this coming week in training. The lads will benefit from no match this week after a heavy schedule of late. Training however will continueon Thursday evening at 7pm.

The biggest day of the year in Portadown as Country Comes to Town

Madden once more responded superbly and raced down the field where they found themselves in a position with the goal was at their mercy, only for an athletic save from the goalkeeper who managed to turn the ball over his own crossbar. The second half much like last weekendproved to be a cagier affair with the men from South Armagh scoring within minutes of the game being resumed. This left the minimal between the two sides.
